The team of developers at LC Light & Imaging Systems GmbH will also be able to take advantage of the state-of-the-art manufacturing facilities operated by Leica Camera AG in Wetzlar and at its second factory in Portugal for the production of components for industrial optical systems. The main focus of the company’s activities is on the development of customer-specific optical systems for industrial applications, for example 3D surveying and high-performance inspection in industrial contexts.

‘We are pleased at the prospect of expanding our international activities in the industrial segment and bundling our competencies with those of our experienced colleagues at LC Light & Imaging Systems. We see enormous potential in the focused exploitation of existing synergies in the close collaboration with the Leica Camera AG production facilities in Wetzlar and Portugal’, reports Markus Limberger, Chief Operating Officer (COO) at Leica Camera AG.

Jakob Bleicher, Managing Director of der LC Light & Imaging Systems GmbH, adds, ‘From our point of view in Munich, the founding of LC LIS brings extremely attractive benefits for our customers. Thanks to Leica Camera AG’s two high-tech production facilities, we now have the opportunity to offer our customers the complete product cycle – from optical design and construction to prototyping and serial production of high-end lenses.’
